Joe & Jen
This summer I photographed Joe & Jen’s outdoor wedding in the quiet Kent countryside at the luxury B&B Goss Hall. It was the perfect setting for their bright and colourful day. The couple are keen cyclists so they chose a Tour de France cycling theme – don’t worry, there wasn’t a scrap of Lycra in sight! Instead they incorporated bicycles and jersey colours into everything from their cake decoration to their first dance, where they were showered in sunny confetti as Coldplay’s ‘Yellow’ played.
Jen shone in a fabulous fifties-style wedding dress, while her bridesmaid rocked a fun polka-dot frock. As Jen’s dad proudly walked her across the lawn to marry Joe, the bride and groom grinned with love at each other and they didn’t stop all day. Their gorgeous ceremony took place underneath a tall willow tree in the garden, in the intimate company of their adoring friends and family.
The champagne flowed all afternoon as the guests laughed and played garden games. Apparently, P.E. teacher guests get very competitive at this point! While the guests tried out the photo booth bench, I whisked Joe & Jen away to take their couples portraits, making the most of the country lanes and cornfields nearby. We were welcomed back to the marquee by a musical quartet, ready for the delicious wedding breakfast. Happily fed, the guests were in stitches at the speeches and at one point, even up on their feet getting their rap on to Jen’s ‘favourite song’!
Joe & Jen, thank you for letting me be part of your fun, colourful love- and laughter-filled wedding. I hope your photos bring you lots of joy and fond memories for years to come.
